It is stable enough on flat water to be a sensible place to work on skills, and quick enough once the water moves to punch through features rather than be stopped by them. The hull is a flat planing shape with a high seamline, which gives a predictable platform and an easy boat to put on edge. Long carving rails hold a line across the river or on a wave, there is enough rocker to play with a feature without giving up speed, and the medium to low volume stern cuts rather than skips so the back end stays agile.
