They wrap around the decklines you already have, so there is nothing to drill and nothing to bolt on.

The advantage over a bungee is that the paddle comes out cleanly when you pull it and goes back just as easily while you are still sitting in the boat. Anyone who has tried to restow a split paddle afloat with cold hands will see the point straight away.

Fitting takes a couple of minutes on the bank. Wrap the webbing around the decklines and fasten the velcro underneath, then use the red cord to tie the cuff off to a deck fitting or to the deckline itself so it cannot travel along the deck once it is loaded.

Secures spare paddle shafts on the bow deck of a sea kayak

Velcro wrap fitting around existing decklines, no tools and no drilling

Red tie off cord stops the cuff travelling along the deckline

Quick to release and simple to repack on the water

One size fits all paddle shafts, including push button and metal lever lock ferrules, and the larger nylon lever lock fitted to some paddles

If you are still looking for the spare itself, every paddle in our sea kayak and touring paddle range comes as a two piece split, which is what makes a deck mounted spare practical in the first place.
