Description
Description
A glass Fara blade on a two piece straight glass shaft, which is the standard build and the best value way into the Fara. The glass shaft carries a little flex, which takes the edge off a long day on the water, and the dye sublimated polyester layer over the glass adds a useful bit of armour against rock and beach landings.
The Fara is VE's medium to large touring blade, designed around a higher angle stroke. It connects cleanly and holds a precise feel all the way through to the exit, so it suits day tours and coastal play where you want power available when a gust or a wave asks for it. If you paddle with a more upright, vertical stroke, this is the blade of the three to look at.
- 650 cm² blade area, 485 x 185 mm
- Glass prepreg blade in VE's touring lite lay up, up to 30% lighter than standard
- Multi step tip, 60% thinner at the end for lower swing weight
- Two piece straight glass shaft, 30.6 mm diameter, ground and waxed with ovalised indexing
- KajakSport ferrule with 10 cm of length adjustment and any feather, right or left handed
- Weight 823 g at 210 cm
- Handmade in the United Kingdom
Store the paddle with the ferrule open rather than closed. It keeps the joint out of constant tension and the paddle will last a good deal longer for it.
Choosing between the touring blades
The Fara is the medium to large blade for a higher angle stroke. The Skera is slightly smaller and happy at either angle, which makes it the gentler choice over long distances. The Vanda is long and narrow, built for low angle cruising and covering ground.
The Fara is also available with an Aircore carbon blade, and on a bent shaft for a more neutral wrist position.
