VE's Aircore carbon blade on a two piece split shaft, available with a glass or a carbon shaft. The split gives you length and feather adjustment you can change on the bank, and packs the paddle down for travel, expeditions or a spare behind the seat. The carbon blade is lighter and stiffer than glass, so the catch is sharper and there is less weight to swing at the end of a long day.
The Pro is VE's largest and most aggressive whitewater blade. Power arrives the moment the blade is in the water and keeps driving through to the exit, with the shape concentrating force towards the tip. It is the pick for freestyle and for anyone who wants an immediate response from every stroke.
Store a split paddle with the connector open rather than closed. It keeps the joint out of constant tension and the paddle will last a good deal longer for it.
Other ways to have the Pro
The glass blade split costs less and is tougher again, and the all glass one piece build remains our most popular option. One piece carbon builds save a little weight over a split. A cranked carbon shaft puts your wrists in a more neutral position, which many paddlers find more comfortable.
