Explore the waterways of Exeter at your own pace!  We offer flexible hire periods, typically ranging from 3 hours upwards, allowing your team to tailor their adventure to suit your schedule and desired level of exploration.  Whether you're looking for a shorter team-building activity or a full-day expedition, we can accommodate your needs.

 

Our self-guided trips give your team the freedom to discover hidden gems and enjoy the natural beauty of the area independently. While we provide all the necessary equipment and safety briefings, our staff will not accompany your group on the water.  

 

Many groups choose to incorporate a stop at Double Locks for lunch or refreshments, enhancing their team experience.

Great afternoon on the river thanks to AS Watersports

What an excellent afternoon we have had. This was booked as a Team-building
event, for 19 people and they all had a great time. From the first enquiry to the actual
day the staff at AS Watersports were so helpful and prompt in answering any
questions asked. The prices are very reasonable and they were very flexible with
timings, allowing us to start slightly earlier than our booked time. I will definitely
recommend AS Watersports whether for a corporate event or booking an afternoon
for your family. They are ideally located on the Quay at Exeter, with plenty of short
stay and long stay parking nearby. There are also plenty of food outlets to enjoy after
your trip up the river. You could also stop on the way for some excellent food and
reasonably priced drinks at the Double Locks pub, which is about 40 minutes
paddling up the river. AS Watersports is so friendly and I am so glad that we chose to
use them.

Kayak Hire

Choose from our 1 or 2 person sit-on-top kayaks. Great for beginners, using a double-ended paddle is easy to get to grips with and will keep you going in a straight line. All of our kayaks feature comfortable backrests and generous storage areas, perfect for longer trips.

Canoe Hire

The traditional “Canadian” style open canoe is the classic canal cruiser. With enough space for 2 Adults and a Child (over 8) everyone gets a single-ended paddle to get you moving. The Canoe requires a bit more coordination than a kayak, so teamwork is key! You are rewarded with a drier ride, being a bit further away from the water.

Paddleboard Hire

Stand-up Paddleboards (SUP’s) keep growing in popularity! We have a fleet of premium Red Paddle Co Inflatable paddleboards to hire in a range of sizes to suit all paddlers. No experience needed, come and give it a go! A great way to see if you want to invest in the sport, or just have a bit of fun on (and in?) the water!

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Full payment is required to confirm your booking
  • No children under 8
  • 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult (18+)
  • 1 adult to a maximum of 2 children
  • For security reasons we require some form of ID: we accept Credit and debit cards, valid passports, Armed forces ID cards, a valid Full UK driving license and other international ID cards
  • Cancellation: We require 24hrs notice if you need to cancel for any reason. Less than 24hrs notice and we will not be able to give you a refund. If for any reason AS Watersports have to cancel, we will refund hire charges but are not liable for any other expense incurred.
